MY REAL JOB.
I originally got my loan officer license the week Lehman Brothers filed bankruptcy in 2008. Not a great time to enter the market. Coming into the mortgage industry during that time, it toughened me up pretty quickly to the fact that relationships have to be built on real connections and they have to have a give-and-take. That period really taught me to be able to give whatever I can of myself to better the company and the client.
I really like working with first-time homebuyers; that’s where I excel. I like working with people that are new to the mortgage industry because I like taking the time to explain things to them and I love being at the closings when they’re getting their keys and everybody’s happy. It’s a very fulfilling job in that respect.”
MY REAL LIFE.
I’m from right here in Hot Springs and I’ve been in the mortgage industry for 12 years. In fact, I met my wife Alison when we were both loan officers for five years, working for the same company. We have two kids; we have an 18-year-old senior, Elyjah, and we have a 6-year-old kindergartner named Carter. I love anything to do with kids, so coaching them is huge to me. I coached my oldest all the way through T-ball, travel ball and high school baseball. And now, I’m coaching my youngest one in T-ball as well.
I also play golf; I mean, being in the mortgage industry we all golf, you know. I think of that as my personal escape.
MY REAL STORY.
Integrity is number one with me. Do what you say you’re going to do and do it on time. If you don’t have the integrity piece up front it doesn’t matter what vocabulary you have or how good of a salesman you are, it’s going to come back and bite you eventually. And I would also say, make sure and follow up with everyone, just keep everyone in the loop.
Put my 12+ years of experience to work for you!
