MY REAL JOB.
My service, Angel’s service, is not just ‘You’re preapproved, approved and then closed.’ I keep in touch with them; I keep them from the day they step into my office or the day they apply on my website. They become part of me for the rest of their life.
The way this area is growing, it’s getting very diversified. I see a really big potential in helping the Hispanic and Latino community. I feel like with those customers specifically, they feel comfortable with me, they trust me, they’re not scared to ask a question. I feel more like I’m helping people now than selling a product. I’ve just been working so hard, I stay really humble and I see myself in all my customers.
MY REAL LIFE.
My name is Miguel Garcia, but I go by Angel. I grew up in Mexico and attended college there. I lived in Arizona for about 11 years before I moved to northwest Arkansas and I’ve been here for 17 years. I like walking a lot outdoors, hiking, playing soccer, cooking. I like traveling, I like to visit parks. I’m pretty much 100 percent an outdoors guy.
MY REAL STORY.
I put myself in the customer’s shoes; I was there before where you’re like, ‘If I ask a question, I’m going to sound stupid or I’m going to sound dumb.’ But I let them know there is not a stupid question. I feel like they’re more open when they see a Hispanic loan officer that can communicate in their own language, too. They’re more comfortable and they trust more, they open up.
Recently, we purchased a house and we went to the Rock Mortgage office. Our loan officer was my friend from a long time ago, I’ve known him for 10-plus years, and I asked him if they’re hiring. The following week he told me that the manager wants to speak with me, we spoke, and then I just asked him for the opportunity. He offered me the job. It’s been amazing; I really feel like I’m in love with this job. You know when you find something that really makes you happy and you feel like you want to make a career and you want to retire from that? That’s me and Rock Mortgage.
